Family history
I can research your family history and produce a fully-referenced and professionally produced report including trees, charts and illustrations.
Or if you prefer researching your own family tree I can help you break down “brick walls” or carry out any other piece of research you require.
Archival research
I can carry out research in archives, whether it be in estate papers, company or other financial records, government or church records – or anything else.
Searches made, documents transcribed, information extracted – depending on your requirements.
Pricing
I charge for my time at £26 per hour. Once the scope of the work is defined and agreed I will provide an estimate of the time and hence costs. I will not charge more unless we mutually agree for more time to be spent. Any copies of documents that you require are recharged at cost.
Travel time or costs are not charged for any research carried out at archives in Edinburgh (including the ScotlandsPeople centre), North-east Scotland, Tayside, Glasgow or elsewhere in the Central Belt.
Payment can be made by cheque or Paypal. Details provided once workscope is agreed.
